Part I ~ Translate into Sindarin:

1. I see an elf. – Cerin edhel.
2. They stop. – Derir.
3. Today Aragorn comes. – Sír Aragorn tôl.
4. You (formal, singular) / Thou shout commanding. – Cenil conui.
5. Aragorn and Arwen recite a poem. – Aragorn ah Arwen glirir.
6. You (informal, plural) watch the orc-host. – Tirigir orchoth.
7. I have joy. – Gerin ‘lass.
8. You (informal, singular) keep hope. – Gerig estel.
9. We (inclusive) ride good horses. – Nerinc rych vaer.
10. An eagle beats the wings. – Thôr blâb i revail.

Part II ~ Translate the following from Sindarin into English or your mother tongue.

1. Hîr Gondor tôl. – (the) lord of Gondor comes.
2. Cên vellon. – He/she sees a friend.
3. Nerinc lim. – We (inclusive) run swift/fast.
4. Pedil thand. – You (formal, singular) speak / Thou speakest true.
5. Gwilwilith ephedir Lúthien. – Butterflies follow Lúthien.
6. Redhim iau. – We (exclusive) sow corn.
7. Elrond trenar i bennas. – Elrond recounts the history.
8. Hâf dínen. – He/She sits silently.
9. Pedil lam edhellen? – Do you (formal, singular) speak an elven language?
10. Thelin padad. – I intend to go.
